This website focuses on issues regarding social protection in Asia and the activities done by the Network on Social Protection Rights (INSP!R) and its members. It is under the editorial oversight from the Asia Steering Committee, composed out of members from India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Cambodia, Indonesia and Philippines. It is meant to foster dialogue and share experiences.
The articles describe challenges and achievements to improve the right to social protection to workers in the region, with a specific focus to gender, youth and informal workers.

Bill tabled for domestic workers rights in India

NDWM informed that one of the members of Parliament, Shri Shasitharoor, who had promised his support to NDWM, drafted a private member's Bill called Domestic Workers Act-2016 for the rights of domestic workers which is tabled in the Lokhsabha. He drafted the Bill and shared with NDWM for feedback on definitions, wages, work hours, benefits, and rights to obtain a comprehensive and effective bill. It is listed for the 5th of August 2016. On another level, Assam Government is also moving ahead on minimum wages. A Committee has been constituted to advise the  Govt of Assam in the matter of fixation/ revision of minimum rates for the employment of domestic workers.
